The first engraving is titled, "Landing of The Seventh and Twelfth Regiments at Cairo, June 4, 1861.--Sketched by Mr. A. Simplot." It shows two large steamers, one named City of Alton, flying American flags, Troops fill the decks and march to shore where civilians wave greetings. The second engraving is titled, "Battery on The Ohio Levee, Used For Ordering Steamers To.--Sketched by Mr. A. Simplot." It shows soldiers and cannon on the bank and steamers on the river. The third engraving is titled, "Batteries on The Ohio at Cairo.--Sketched by Mr. A. Simplot." It shows soldiers at rest next to cannons and steamers, flying the American flag, on the river. Civil War
