The first half page engraving is titled, "Landing of the Scott Life-Guard at Newport News, At 7 A.M. on June7.--Sketched by Our Special Artist." It shows troops unloading from a steamboat. They march, carrying the American flag, across a pier toward a crowd of waving soldiers and several African Americans. A tall ship is also in the harbor. The steamboat flies the American flag. The second half page engraving is titled, "Moat and Seaward Face of Fortress Monroe. Photographed by Stacy." Civil War
