Captain's Chest or Trunk. Painted Gray; Green red; white; and blue. Wood; rope. This lift top trunk or chest is painted dark green on the lid and the molding on the front and sides. The top retains most of the original painted designs of stars and stripes shields in each corner and a compass design in the center. It has rope handles. In the right hand, upper portion of the inside, there is a compartment with a lift top. The sides are secured with handmade square nails. There is a key hole and lock in front.
