This elegantly hand-wrought Bolivian bombilla (sipping tube for yerba mate) dates from the first years of the 19th Century and is in heavy mine silver of excellent purity. The classically simple design extends even to the basket-weave detailing on the insertion section that allows the tube to be pulled apart for cleaning. It is approximately nine inches in length.
