Circa 1890-1920 Eight Carved Chinese Ivory Buddhist lohans. These might even be referred to as THE EIGHT IMMORTALS. All eight are holding different musical instruments. Guaranteed to be antique and not a reproduction. I am very comfortable dating them between 1890-1920, but leaning more to 1920 BUT No Later. The Color is Good--Natural Color. Not stained or bleached. Ivory is not something we are a Expert on as we are in Chinese Export Porcelain. So I sent these ivory figures to a ivory collector who has been collecting for over 35 years. These pieces measure 3 1/4"-3 1/2" in height. Our collector friend evaluates these ivory figures as a "B" stating that the quality of the faces are better than the figures.
