Rare and extremely unusual carved ivory mythological creature that looks like a large wolf with a lion face. Wolves have pointed faces but this one has more of a lion type face. Its mouth is open showing its large teeth. This is perhaps one of the most unusual Netsuke's we have seen. It is in excellent condition and extremely well carved. It measures 2-3/4 inches high. Widest width 2 inches. Depth 2-1/2 inches. Weight 116.6 grams. This is a rare and wonderful piece guaranteed to delight and satisfy its new owner. (Item #72890)
