Absolutely lovely Satsuma Bowl, depicting early autumn in a tranquil, rural Japan setting.

The dark red maple leaves set the tone of the whole composition, rendered with the redolent Japanese sensitivity of the period. They seem to overflow from the inside of the bowl to all around it. What more could one say, the photos speak for themselves.
