A Zitan wood brushpot was nicely carved to imitate the original wood surface. Totally carved from one piece of trunk of the rare Zitan wood, the brushpot was very heavy and was meticulously rendered on the surface with the natural tree bark.. An inscription of Jing-Wei was found at the lower portion of the brushpot. It was probably from the carver’s name.
