Circa 1850-1875 Japanese Meiji Period Mixed Metal Vase measuring 17 1/2" in height. The texture of this vase is just like the trunk of a tree and this is actually called the Tree Bark Pattern and Design. I have been told this is Japanese Lacquer on top of Satsuma. The Cloisonne along with the mixed metals have been applied to is probably pottery, earthenware or porcelain. Cloisonne design of flowers, butterflies, birds are inlaid into the lacquering. It appears to be a hammered black rippled body embossed with a central tree bearing bark and orange flowers maybe mums with a black and orange bird (Oriole) nestled in between. JUST A REAL BLACK BEAUTY. I have been told that this pattern is very rarely seen and not too many people are knowledgeable(Including Myself)in regards to this piece. The minute I looked at it,I knew it was something that was quite unusual and a process that I had never seen. I feel that I have Priced it at a Very Reasonable Price. « Less

Incredible Three Piece 18th Century Chinese Export Covered Bowl and Underplate from the Yongzheng Dynasty dating 1722-1735. We rarely find pieces predating Qianlong (Chien Lung). The Condition is Excellent which is extremely rare to find in this remarkable item considering the age. The underplate is 6" in diameter and beside a few nibbles, frits on the edge the underneath, this piece is in perfect condition. Amazing the vine feet have never been broken. The entire piece front and back has been impressed to replicate a lily-pad or other leafs. The fluted edge is decorated in rouge-de-fer and a lime green. The center decoration is famille rose with two sepia or brown pomegranites with gilded speckles. The bowl itself is lotus is 4" in diameter by 2 1/2" tall. A lotus shape with applied flowers. The lip is scalloped and decorated to match the saucer and lid with the same rouge de fer and lime green border. Their is very little wear to the enamels or gilding. The enamels and gilding are Excellent. This is a truly a beautiful object. This period of chinese is very difficult to find or come by and one in this condition practically impossible. I guarantee this rare object to be authentic and absolutely not a reproduction. whoever purchases this object will be 100% Satisfied. « Less

Kangxi Period (1662-1722) Pair of Seated Lion Foo Dogs measuring 8 1/4" in height. This is a pair of Foo Dogs that are the earliest foo dogs that we have ever had. They are absolutely exquisite. They were made in the far east, probably china and they are composed of pottery and not porcelain. These are just simply wonderful with such fine detailed form and beautiful enamel painting on a biscuit base. The aubergine, yellow and green colors are absolutely fabulous. These were purchased recently out of a New York Estate that had some of the finest chinese objects of art that I have had in many a year. The condition is good considering the age. Minor frits to the ears and some minor frits to the edges of the base. « Less
