A great kugel-bach (round belly) krug possibly from the workshop of the most prominent Raeren potter of the time; Jan Emens.
Very nice round form with a frieze band around neck depicting a male and female helmeted winged anthropomorphic figures with leaved branches growing out of from their rears. Both flanking a central portrait medallion of a prominent personage of the time. Bizarre!
Perfectly intact with no restorations only a tint lip edge chip, see photos. 2 collection notes were found inside. About 6†tall.
