Handsome pair of antique newel posts crafted of solid oak and dating from approximately 1880. The square post body is topped with a simple domed newel post cap and features a unique silhouette that tapers in the center. Chamfered edges with reeded and grooved detailing compliment the top and the base. Unlike boxed newel posts that are hollow in the middle, these posts are solid all the way through. The newel has been painted white and is in good antique condition with some chips and wear as shown. The newel posts measure 5-7/8†wide and 61-1/2†tall.
