This is a charming antique brass single-light chandelier with its original opaline shade, dating to the early 1900s. Found in a home in St. Louis, this Adam Style light fixture begins with a Greek key patterned canopy, coming down in a rod to a finial composed of flared petals. Three chains descend from the canopy, each chain fastening to the opaline shade with a simple loop which affixes to the shade's built in hooks. Crowned with a palmette border, the fabulous opaline shade features an elegant urn and garland design. This Neoclassical light fixture is in excellent condition, and the shade is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rim. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The shade is 8-1/2†wide, the length of the pendant body only is approx. 8â€, and the overall length is approx. 26â€.
