This is a marvelous antique figural cast iron fireplace cover with its matching surround, dating from the late 19th Century. This Neoclassical summer cover features a torch crowned with an elegant swan, surrounded by an intricate laurel wreath. On either side of the swan are foliate flourishes in the form of swagged bell flowers accented with flowing ribbons; the cover is framed with a graceful foliate design. The surround continues the Neoclassical motif with coordinating wreath and torch designs and is crowned with a stylized anthemion. This summer cover set is in very good antique condition and its button is slightly dented, which does not detract from its beauty. It measures 30-1/8†tall by 25-1/8†wide overall and has a 2-1/2" projection
