This cast iron mechanical frog bank was manufactured by J&E Stevens Company in Cromwell, Connecticut. It was based on a patent issued to James H. Bowen of Philadelphia on August 8, 1882. Bowen also took out an English patent on July 28, 1882. It measures about 10" x 4" and weighs about 2 pound 9 ounces (including some change inside.) It is rated as in "fine" condition. The small foot runs perfectly and the glass eyes are all extant and in excellent condition
