Wonderful set of excellent pre-owned condition 8 Georgian silver tablespoons. The spoons bare the maker's marks of Richard Crossley and George Smith, London with a date letter 1807-08. The maker's marks, date marks, and all the markings are very clear and easy to read. The table spoons measure 8-5/8 inches from the point of he bowl to the very back of the handle. The spoon bowl measures 1-3/4 inches wide at its widest point. They have a coat of arms at the top of a walking lion carrying an axe, above that is a motto. The spoons have a combined weight of 19 troy ounces. Sets of early Georgian silvertable spoons like this are almost impossible to find today. When collectors get them they do not resell them they keep and enjoy them. We were very fortunate to discover this set in a recent estate purchase. Guaranteed to please as are all our items.
