A series of four inset medallions complement the blue ground and minutely-detailed vinescroll field. Each lozenge is woven with alternating patterns and contrasting colors separated by ornate strapwork. In the traditional Tabriz fashion, this carpet features multiple borders, wide Persian guardbands and main borders decorated with isolated cartouches inlaid with ovoid medallions and woven in a combination of neutral colors.
