One of a small series of rugs made by Feltex back in the mid 20th century. The rugs were each from a New Zealand area famed for tourism or similar iconic scene - e.g. Auckland Harbour Bridge. This one is one of the rarer rugs - it shows Russell, in the Bay of Islands, depicting the wharf, the game fishing boat, the leaping swordfish, and the village waterfront. Rug measures 67.5 cm by 124 cm and is in very good vintage condition. Could probably do with a mild clean, but the pile is in very good condition so should take this well. Fringing is perhaps a bit scrappy. Collector's piece.
