Antique Persian Tabriz Sampler, Circa 1920 Persian Tabriz samplers were woven to demonstrate designs for large carpets. This sampler is an example of a border design containing classic ‘turtle’ palmettes with gracious outer borders in contrasting ivory. What evolves from this border sampler is a wonderful runner for a narrow hallway.
