Antique Tabriz Rug, Persia, late nineteenth centuryA trellis design of flowers and large rosettes in cinnamon and earth tones envelopes a small central medallion and cornerpieces, all set against a pale cocoa ground on this lovely little antique Tabriz. The relatively large rosettes and the small size of the medallion, however, create the impression of an allover design. Fine vinescroll borders provide a contrast to the scale of field design, while preserving its coloration.
