Antique Sultanabad, Persia, late nineteenth centuryA bold, large-scale Herati pattern sprawls across the cocoa ground of this lovely antique Sultanabad. The triangular cornerpieces with latchhook edging adds a slight informal tribal or village touch to the overall effect, as do the stylized vinescroll and rosette borders. The piece is especially adaptive to interior decor because of the even and subdued coloration - tan and cocoa with touches of light blue.
