This runner from the Oushak region of Turkey features a finely-woven, evenly-colored field with a unique fragmented spandrel in a characteristically subdued color scheme. In addition to guard bands and cloud band borders, the geometric floral motifs resemble designs used by weavers in Azerbaijan and Armenia, who were refugees in the Ottoman Empire.
