The drawing is animated, suggesting a sense of burgeoning life, while still expressing that stately restraint for which Kashans of this type are so highly prized. An elegant palmette vinescroll border frames the field, set against a navy ground for contrast and reinforced by ivory minor borders. The finesse of the drawing and the weave are matched by the saturated color and lustrous pile.
