This opulent antique Agra carpet reflects the great tradition of classic Persian and Indian carpets in a soft palette eminently well suited to decorative use. A lavish network of palmettes and flowers in tans and cocoas is punctuated sparingly by a few splashes of wine tone against a soft aquamarine ground. The wine tone recurs in the ground of the magnificent border of strapwork vines and palmettes.
