531.Doukhobor thick pile rug(kor/vi/or).Doukhobors are somewhat of a religious sect like the Amish etc.They arrived in Canada from Russia around 1880-1910 and established them selves in Western Canada.Their crafts are exceptionaly well made and decorated.This rug has birds,harps,flowers etc.They were used as a bed mattress and during the day as rugs on the floors.It has had some repairs in one area. These are very rare.L.88in by 42in.Small restoration. (220cm by 105cm).
