Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire Holy water stoup modeled as an angel sat on a plinth above the stoup, with a boy and girl on either side of her. Goblet molded to either side of the stoup. Dull gilt decoration. Vent hole to reverse. Similar piece illustrated figure 1677, page 17, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No hairlines. No chips. Some small flakes to the boy''s sleeve. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: two shrinkage cracks by the girl''s legs; stained crazing to reverse and inside of stoup. Restored hole to reverse of base. Retouched flake to angel''s nose. Retouching to hair, eyes, lips and shoes. 14.25ins high
