Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire Holy water stoup with Christ carrying the cross, surrounded by four angels. Stoup at the front above the base. Cross at the top with a clock face below. Similar pieces illustrated in Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Generally good. Chip to base. Abrasion to upper base edge. Some rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to angel hair. Kiln effects: shrinkage line to base below the stoup and another to reverse; shrinkage crack at base of Christ''s cross. Restored flakes to stoup rim. Retouching to eyes of Christ and top right angel. 13.25ins high
