Unusual old brass Chanukiya Menorah, from the earliest days of the State of Israel.5 1/2-5 3/4 accross at widest point. 4 1/2inches high.Curved table with outstretched legs, the surface decorated with raised vines and grapeleaves within scrolls. The back is a partly open pointed arch, similarly decorated on the outside border, the inner border written in Hebrew (Al Hanissim Ve''al Haniflaot) and the lower section has carved lions holding a pair of winged tablets under a crown (with inscription Hanerot Halalu Kodesh Hem in Hebrew letters). The back has a loop for hanging and is engraved with HANDMADE IN ISRAEL and below that R.D. 539 and the Hebrew letters Mem Resh. Very good condition.
