Quite large carved wood complete rosary beads with metal joiner links and a cross containing a Stanhope peep (a little off-centre in the viewer) of St Peters, a Pope - looks like Pius IX, two Madonna and Child images from famous paintings, St Joseph and another saint. Late 19th century. Beads are 53 cm long. Each bead is 9 mm diameter, with the chapter beads being 11 mm diameter. Excellent condition.
(Stanhopes are tiny viewers with a scene or composite scene which can be seen when you hold the little round viewer up to your eye).
