Exquisite antique Russian icon made from 3 miniature tempera on wood paintings enclosed in a folding brass case. The paintings are of the highest old master quality with extra-ordinary rendition of minute details. Each painting has a gilded frame and in excellent condition considering the age, some craquelure is present and expected. Dating to 19th. century or earlier. The subjects represented in the paintings are life events of Jesus. Each painting has the size: 3.5" X 2.8" (9 X 7 cm.).
