Antique, 15th - 18th century India, finely cast, and skillfully hand chased bronze figure depicts an Indian Hindu goddess Parvati as Meenakshi of Madurai. She is standing, in slight tribanga pose, on a circular lotus base over a square plinth, holding in her raised right hand a lotus stalk with perching parrot, and her left hand extended along her hip, clad in a long dhoti tied at her waist with a sash falling down the sides of her legs, her upper torso adorned with necklaces, and her arms with armlets and bracelets, her face flanked by elongated earlobes, and surmounted by a high conical headdress.
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age and usage, worn out on the exposed areas, the surface with a rich brown and green patina overall. The old collection stock number is painted in red underneath of the base
