This antique Japanese turn of the century lovely bronze incense burner is a beautiful example of the Japanese lost-wax casting technique favored at the end of the Meiji Period, c.1900. The lid has a mythical shishi on the top and the base is on tripod legs with repeating diaper design and figures in raised relief. Two arms extend to the sides and these are plum branches.
