For Sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Jardiniere or Planter and the pattern is known as "Matt Color". The Jardiniere measures 3 1/2" tall and is 6 3/8" in diameter outside handle measurements. The opening of this little planter is 4 1/8" wide. The Jardiniere is glazed in a soft Robin's Egg Blue or Teal color. It has two applied handles accenting each side and would look great with an African Violet or small plant inserted with another pot as a liner. There were several colors done in this line by Roseville but this is probably one of the more common glazes you see in this form. It is known as Shape number 550-4" in the Roseville Catalog Pages. The Jardiniere is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a small glaze miss on the base which is shown in my fifth picture. Please keep in mind my camera is a 10X Zoom Lens so this appears more substantial than it is. This is factory and does not take away from the beauty of this little gem. It would make an excellent starter piece for a collector or simply a nice addition to someone who collects Matte Color. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Roseville. The piece was made Circa 1920.
