A unique ball shape, reticulated brass Middle Eastern lantern or hallway light, embedded with hand blown, multi-color glass marbles, suspended from a hooked canopy on three hand-twisted brass chains with attached brass ball decoration, the top removable to access a single light socket, electrified. Chain can be shortened to accommodate ceiling heights. Probably Syrian, c. 1880. Overall dimensions: 24" H x 6" dia.
