For Sale I have a Beautiful piece of Carnival Glass made by the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pa. The shape is a Ruffled Low Bowl although the Golden Rule of anything less than 2" in height would be characterized as a plate does not apply to this piece according to the books. The Pattern is known as "Fanciful". The piece measures 1 7/8" tall at the talles Ruffle and is 9 1/8" in diameter. The Bowl depicts a very busy but pleasing and whimsical pattern of Quilted Strawberries with clusters of leaves and stylized Flowers in between each Strawberry. The Center of the Bowl has even more Scrolling and various patterns almost like Needlework to accent the piece. The Exterior of the Bowl has the "Big Basketweave" pattern and a Collar Foot Base. The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. I have run my fingers all along the Saw Tooth Edge Rim to verify there are no rough spots. The irridescence on this piece is just beautiful. There are pastel hues of Blue, Green, Fuschia and Purple. The Bowl is unsigned and most likely carried a paper of foil label. This Bowl would make a lovely addition to any Carnival Glass Collection as well as to compliment a Verre de Soie Collection.
