Price on request:A very rare round tea stand made of huanghuali with an insert burlwood top by a round stretcher and the splay legs ended in "Lin Zi" head feet. Age: Early 19th century. Size: 40 X 64 cm Condition. A small piece is missing from one of the legs. See last photo. Comes with a "Certificate of Antiquity" Traditionally the Chinese referred to the wood as “hualiâ€, but about one hundred years ago the modifier “huang†– meaning “yellowish-brown†– began to be used to refer to old huali wood whose surface had mellowed to a yellowish tone due to long exposure to light. Occasionally the term “lao†(old) is encountered to refer to darker huali woods. -
