SOLD Antique 19th century North African Islamic Maghrib Arabian Spahis Saddle and breast plate. The wooden saddle is constructed with a tall round pommel and cantle covered by tooled Rawhide. The exterior of the cover and breast plate are made of leather and fabric, decorated entirely with rosettes and scrolling foliate designs, in gold and silver metallic embroidery, the interior with leather lining. The breast plate with two iron buckles and two cambered ornamental brass plaques.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 68 cm (26 3/4 in). Height: 46 cm (18 1/8 in).
CONDITION: Signs of usage and wear.
