Antique Polish officer sword, model 1921/22. Details: A regulation brass stirrup hilt comprised of a solid knuckle bow, with a pair of langets, downbend rear quillon, and a plain back-strap, retaining its original leather covered wooden grip, bound with brass wire. A slightly curved single edged nickel plated steel blade, cut with a three slender full-length fullers, double-edged towards the point, engraved with Polish eagle, flowers and foliage and the motto, "HONOR I OJCZYZNA" ,translation in English ",Honor and Country ".The ricasso stamped illegibly by the maker, most likely G.Borowski .Warszawa. In its original nickel plated steel scabbard with two suspensions rings.
CONDITION: The sword is in its original condition as it was found, with no repair or restorations .Wear and stain on same part of the blade. The nickel platting of the scabbard worn.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 96 cm (37 3/4 in), overall length without the scabbard: 90.2 cm (35.5 in), length of the blade: 77 cm (30 1/4 in).
