SOLD Antique, 17th – early 18th century Mughal India, Indo Persian Islamic Mail Coif Helmet (Kulah Zirah), formed of small hand forged, riveted, and butted, iron rings forming a hood covering the entire head and suspended from a circular iron disc. Finely decorated in gold and silver inlaid koftgari extending down the front and with a triangular flap over the face; the edges of the long coif adorned with three rows of brass rings.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: Height from the top of the steel plate, to the end of the bottom link: 56.5 cm (22 1/4 in).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, except for minor losses of the iron rings.
