SOLD Antique, first half of the 17th century European breastplate Armour formed of hand forged thick steel with a medial ridge projecting forward over the belly down turned basal flange and raised neck –opening, incised with double lines about the arms and base decorated with plain inward turns and fitted with domed lining – rivets. The inner surface struck illegibly with two marks perhaps letters “M Yâ€
CONDITION: one stud for attaching shoulder strap is missing, some wear and pitting overall.
DIMENSIONS: high approximately: 35.5 cm (14 in). Width at the widest point: 38.7 cm (15 1/4 in).
