Circa 1910 WMF claret jug/pitcher in the Art Nouveau style. Typical Secessionist period motifs. Cylindrical in shape with a flared base. Handle, thumb piece and flip lid. Impressed ''WMF'' ostrich monogram to underside along with ''B'' - Britannia metal, ''I/O'' - normal thickness of plating/gilding, and ''OX'' - Oxidised. Illustrated on page 140, catalogue number 144, ''Art Nouveau Domestic Design from Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik'' published by the ''Antique Collectors Club''. Generally good. No repairs. Wear and tarnishing to the exterior. Three scratches on one side. Thumb piece and flip lid in good working order. 15.25ins high
