Antique Sterling Silver Necklace Circa. 1920 American. Handmade sterling silver necklace with hollow sterling squares. Each square is hand-chased with alligator-like textured top. On reverse side is a copper hand-stamped motif. Sterling silver toggle. Catch is new. Each link is soldered closed, so this necklace will not snag on your clothing. The necklace is 26 inches long, without the end loop. There are 9 textured squares, each measuring 5/8 inch x 5/8 inch. 1/4 inch deep. The silver small links on the chain are approximately 1/8 inch wide. The round links are 1/2 inch in diameter. The end link which holds the toggle is 5/8 inch in diameter.
