Vintage / estate opal necklace. Possibly dates to 1920''s. Measures approximately 17 1/4 inches long. Largest opal is approx 8mm (5/16th inch) in diameter. 56 round opals. Recently restrung and new clasp (in gilded sterling silver & not gold as it says in the photo) for security. ROund beads in graded sizes, with very nice sized central gems (much larger than usually found on a necklace of this sort). The opals are slightly opaque. Gentle fire, iridescence and shine, depending on the angle that light catches them. Not outstanding, but makes for a nice first necklace. Good condition. No damage.
