Beautiful ring: a large man-made star sapphire with a good 6 ray star asterism - mounted in a handmade 14ct yellow and white gold mount. It has two marquise-shaped brilliant cut diamonds on either side, estimated to total .22 carats.
This ring has an independent valuation, which estimates the star sapphire at 9.00 carats. The diamonds are F-G colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. The ring band is 4.4 mm at the shoulders, tapering to 3 mm at the rear of the finger. Ring fitting is UK size L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm. This is a very attractive ring n the hand, and has a total weight of 5.74g. It is in excellent condition, and dates mid 20th century to 1970s.
The valuation gives a second hand market value of NZ$1400.00 and a new comparison value of NZ$2800.00. We offer it for sale at a substantially lower figure.
