Plique A Jour Pn Circa. 1860 European Eqyptian revival style plique a jour pin. plique a jour is a technique of decoration in enamelling by which the design is outlined in metal and filled in with variously colored transparent enamels, but with no backing behind the enamel. The effect is similar to a stained glass window. This pin is in 900 silver. Profile of an Eqyptian in front of a plique a jour window. The pin measures 1 3/8 inches long and 3/4 inch wide.
