There are 29 pearls as follows: 3 small pearls, 3mm 2 seed pearls, 4mm 4 tiny seed pearls, 3mm 20 very tiny pearls, and 12 turquoise stones. The gold is 18kt and the work is very fine. The weight of this pin is 10.8 grams. The catch is a sliding barrel catch with a pin that runs vertically up the sword blade; there is a mechanism for holding a horizontal pin, but the pin itself was not placed as the original owner opted for the vertical fastener.
