19th century oval lava cameo with well realised high relief classical head carving. Mounted in gold frame, with silver bale and metal chain. (Possibly converted from a brooch at some time). Cameo measures29 mm by 25 mm (1.1/8 inches by 1 inch). Very good condition. It deserves a better chain though.
