Very pretty early 20th century Indian necklace - probably made in the days of the Raj. It is a twisted-effect strand of simulated pearls and genuine garnet beads, with little metal bead cones at the end and red and cream plaited cord and tassel. The cord has a silver-wire thread bead which slides up and down to control the length of the necklace. Total length of necklace is 79 cm (31 inches) - the actual beaded section is 19.5 cm long (7.3/4 inches) to the beginning of the cones. Bead area is 1 cm diameter (3/8 inch). All in very good condition.
