Oval late 1800s cameo, pink shell, high relief carving of a woman with feathers in her hair. Etruscan style mount. There is a hallmark on the hook, looks like the French import mark for Seurre, or the leaf mark for 585 gold (14 carat). No other marks that I can see except a V between two dots which is probably the maker's mark - the gold around the raised area of the mount, surrounding the shell is more like a tarnished silver colour, but my gold tester reads it all as between 14 carat and 18 carat. Brooch measures 3.3 cm by 2.7 cm. Very good condition, very pretty unusual colour.
