Very lovely gold locket, dating from circa 1880s to 1900. One side has a shield for the wearer's initials (blank here) and the other has a fern decoration. Inside there is room for two photos - only one has glass though. Both have their original retaining rings. Locket measures 32 mm (not including the suspension ring) by 26 mm and 8 mm thick. The suspension ring is a further 10mm long. Gold is not stamped, but tests as 12ct, which is appropriate for the period. It comes with a long curb-link 14ct gold chain (tested) bought in the 1980s. Chain is 800 mm long (31.5 inches) by 3 mm.
