Beautiful early belt or necklace (depends how big your waist is!). Panels of Afghani lapis lazuli mounted in gilded and decorated metal panels. The metal is probably low-grade silver or pot metal, gilded. The effect is rather of dull brass, and the lapis is shot through with good gold streaks. Panels are each 30 mm by 23 mm (1.1/4 inches by about 1 inch). Each panel is joined by three strands of double linked chain, with a lower draped chain. Total length is about 84 cm or 33 inches. Probably originally a belt,but could be worn as a necklace. Very good antique/vintage condition. One lapis stone has a little damage, but all quite secure.
